Behind the Scenes

Welcome to Behind the Scenes!

A backstage pass into my writing world. Here you will find images of real places featured in my books and some actors and actresses I use when casting characters. Plus, lots of favorite books and movies that inspire me in the writing process.

Think of this as my own private Pinterest/Blog page. Check back often as this page will be updated frequently with new and exciting content.

This show definitely makes my list of top ten period dramas! In fact, I’m a wee bit obsessed-to the point that I set my Regency novella in beautiful Cornwall, England. If you love high-stakes drama, lush scenery, and handsome British heroes, you’ll LOVE Poldark..and perhaps, my novella in The Regency Brides Collection, coming November of 2017!

Newport, RI, the setting for my novella, The Cost of a Heart, was the epicenter of Gilded Age society in the 1890’s. Well-to-do families like the Astors and Vanderbilts would spend four to six weeks in their luxurious seaside mansions–hosting balls, yachting, sea-bathing, and matchmaking. Not exactly a kick-back-in-your-flip-flops kind of vacay!

Here’s a picture that reminds me of my novella, The Truest Heart. While I’ve never set a story in Texas before, I fell in love with the rich history and beautiful setting. And did I mention COWBOYS? I can’t wait for you to read this story.

My heroine in The Truest Heart is the town midwife and I had a lot of fun watching this show as part of my research.

The Gold Rush was certainly an exciting time in history and you’ll love reading more about it in my novella The Price of Love.

This is a picture of Biltmore Estate, the 19th-century mansion in Asheville, North Carolina, the inspiration for the setting of my novella, A Bride for a Bargain. This mansion was designed by Richard Morris Hunt in the French Renaissance style. On my bucket list to visit someday!

My second novella, The Substitute Wife, is set in the town of Bristol, Connecticut. Here is an example of what their downtown looked like during the timeframe of the book.
